Public", which is now: ("Sinking Fund Investments") be
and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
"Security for Sinking Funds. "

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That one new section be and it hereby is added to
Article 31 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Debt—Public", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 5A and to follow immediately after Section 5 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

5A. Whenever any such treasurer or other authorized
financial officer mentioned in the preceding section shall have
in his possession any uninvested monies or other funds be-
longing to any of the sinking funds referred to in the pre-
ceding section, it shall be his duty to deposit the same in
some safe banking institution or trust company located in
the State of Maryland, pending investment or reinvestment,
and it shall be his duty to demand from any such banking
institution or trust company adequate security for so much
of said deposit as shall exceed the guarantee of the Federal
Deposit Insurance Corporation, which security may consist
of any of the classes of securities referred to in the preceding
section as suitable for investment of such sinking fund or may
consist of a surety bond of some responsible corporate surety
company qualified to do business in the State of Maryland,
and no such deposit shall be made unless the security herein
described shall be given.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

(House Bill 620)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 82
and 83 of Article 48 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1924 Edition), title "Inspections", sub-title "Honey Bees",
relating to keeping, removing or selling diseased honey bees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 82 and 83 of Article 48 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Inspection", sub-
title "Honey Bees", be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:
