facilities or other work authorized by this sub-title and
requiring such county, municipality or special taxing dis-
trict to carry out the provisions of any contract made by
it with the State Board of Agriculture through the State
Entomologist or its duly authorized officer or agent and for
the purposes thereof to appropriate money and to levy
taxes required by such contract, to acquire property by
gift, purchase or condemnation, to employ persons to carry
out the provisions of this sub-title and do work by contract
or force account, and to accept and use or expend any aid,
gift or loan from the Government of the United States or
any agency thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted 'by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That six new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 48 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supple-
ment), title "Inspections", to be under a new sub-title "Mos-
quito Control", said new sections to be known as Sections
70, 70A, 70B, 70C, 70D and 70E, to follow immediately after
Section 69 of said Article and all to read as follows:

70. The State Board of Agriculture through the State
Entomologist or its duly authorized officer or agent is hereby
authorized and empowered to make such inspections, investi-
gation, studies and determinations as it may from time to
time deem advisable in order to ascertain the effect of mos-
quitoes and methods for the control or elimination thereof in
any or all parts of the State, and, to the extent to which funds
are available from the sources hereinafter provided, to con-
struct and maintain such ditches, dikes, dams and other facili-
ties and to place or spread such insecticides or other sub-
stances as may from time to time be desirable or necessary
in the judgment of such officer or agent to control or elimi-
nate mosquitoes in any part of the State.

70A. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of
this sub-title the State Board of Agriculture through the State
Entomologist or its duly authorized officer or agent is em-
powered to expend for the purposes authorized in this sub-
title such funds as may from time to time be appropriated in
the State Budget or otherwise for use in connection with
mosquito control.

70B. The State Board of Agriculture through the State
Entomologist or its duly authorized officer or agent is au-
thorized and empowered to receive from any County, Munici-
pality or Special Taxing District in this State funds for the
purposes authorized hereby. In connection therewith the
State Entomologist or other officer or agent is authorized
