Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits", eliminating the
words "with the knowledge of the employer", from the pro-
visions relating to the illegal employment of minors.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 48 of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Workmen's Compensa-
tion", sub-title "Claims and Compensation; Benefits", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read
as follows:
48. Every minor employee engaged in extra hazardous
employment or work covered by this Article shall be deemed
sui juris for the purposes of this Article; and no other per-
son shall have any cause of action or right to compensation
for any injury to such minor employee unless otherwise herein
provided. All compensation and death benefits provided by
this Article, however, shall be doubled in the case of any
minor employed illegally under the laws of this State, and no
insurance policy shall be available to protect the employer of
such minor from the payment of the extra or additional com-
pensation or benefits to be awarded by reason of such illegal
employment, but the employer alone shall be liable for the said
increased amount of compensation or death benefits; provided,
however, that the certificate of the Commissioner of Labor and
Statistics shall be conclusive evidence of the legality of any
employment for the purposes of this Article.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wi-
comico County", sub-title "Pocomoke River", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 175A and to follow immediately
after Section 175 of said Article, and to add the same sec-
tion to Article 24 of said Code, title "Worcester County",
sub-title "Drainage", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 75A and to follow immediately after Section 75 of said
