County", sub-title "Sabbath Breaking", and all other laws or
parts of laws, whether Public General or Public Local Laws,
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, shall be and they
hereby are repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 231
of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-title "Hag-
erstown", fixing the date of the Municipal Election for
Hagerstown and extending the term of office of the Mayor
and Councilmen for one day.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 231 of Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "Hagerstown", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
231. The citizens of Hagerstown of the age of twenty-one
years, and upwards who shall be first duly registered as here-
inafter prescribed and who have resided in the State of Mary-
land and in said town for twelve months preceding the elec-
tion, shall on the fourth Tuesday of March, in the year 1941,
and not before, and upon the same day every four years there-
after, elect by ballot a person not under twenty-five years of
age, a citizen of the United States, and five years a resident
of said town as now constituted (and as enlarged by Chapter
257 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland passed
at its January Session 1914 next preceding the election), to be
Mayor of said town; he shall take the oath of office as herein-
after prescribed for town officers, and remain in office until
his successor is elected and qualified. All elections shall be by
ballot, and no person shall be entitled to vote at any election
who is not duly registered as hereinafter provided. And the
term of the present Mayor is hereby extended until said elec-
tion in 1941.
