other respects to be subject to the provisions thereof as if they
had originally been appointed thereunder.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That from among the
police officers of Prince George's County, two (2) thereof shall
be designated as Corporals of the Prince George's County Police,
who shall receive a salary of Eighteen Hundred ($1800. 00) Dol-
lars per annum each, payable in equal monthly installments,
and no other fees or compensation whatsoever, except the
actual expenses for the maintenance and upkeep of automobiles
which may be provided for them by the Police Commissioners,
and the sum of Sixty ($60. 00) Dollars per annum each for
uniforms; such Corporals shall be designated by the Police
Commissioners upon recommendation of the Superintendent
of Police, and shall be subject in all respects to the provisions
of Chapter 50 of the Acts of 1937, with respect to police
officers in general.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Police Com-
missioners of Prince George's County are authorized and
directed to appoint two (2) additional desk clerks for the
Prince George's County police force, who shall be paid the
salary of One Thousand ($1, 000. 00) Dollars per annum each;
such desk clerks shall be appointed as provided in Chapter 50
of the Acts of 1937, and shall perform all duties therein pro-
vided for desk clerks and shall be subject in all respects to the
provisions of such Act, as if they had been originally ap-
pointed thereunder.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That from and after the
passage of this Act each member of the police force of Prince
George's County, including the Superintendent, the Sergeants
and the privates, but not including the corporals herein pro-
vided for, and also each clerk to the police force who shall have
served for a period of one (1) year, shall receive an increase of
One Hundred and Twenty ($120. 00) Dollars over and above the
salary provided in Chapter 50 of the Acts of 1937; provided,
however, that nothing herein contained shall in any way
change the salary of probationary officers or such members of
the force who have not served for a period of a year, but all of
such officers shall receive the same salaries provided in Chapter
50 of the Acts of 1937, until they shall become qualified for an
increase under the provisions hereof.
SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1939.
