diately paid by the treasurer of the Board of Education of
Allegany County to the said Board of Trustees, provided, how-
ever, that no deductions of such additional assessment shall
be made before September, 1939; and provided further that
said treasurer shall not be empowered and required to deduct
said additional assessment until the teacher from whose salary
the same has been deducted shall have assented to the same in
writing, addressed to the Trustees of the Teachers' Relief
Fund of Allegany County. Such assent, when made, shall be
irrevocable, and shall be delivered to said Trustees not later
than August 1, 1939. And it shall be the duty of said Trustees
to certify the list of such teachers so filing said assents to the
treasurer of the Board of Education not later than August
15, 1939; and provided further, that as to all teachers enter-
ing the service of the Board of Education subsequent to July
30, 1939, the said treasurer shall, in addition to the monthly
deduction provided for in Section 604, be empowered and
required to deduct and retain out of the monthly salary due
said new teacher the additional assessment of thirty-five cents
per month, as in this section provided.

Any teacher of the public schools of Allegany County sub-
ject to or taking advantage of the provisions of this section,
who shall become disabled or incapacitated from performing
regular school work for a period greater than twenty consecu-
tive school days, shall be paid out of the said Relief Fund $2. 00
per school day for a period of the first twenty school days,
and thereafter the sum of $4. 00 per school day for a period
not greater than eighty school days in any school year. The
benefits provided in this paragraph shall be in lieu of those
provided in Section 604.

In the event the twenty-five cent assessment provided for
in Section 604 and the additional thirty-five cent assessment
provided for in this section shall not be sufficient to meet the
needs of said Relief Fund, including the maintenance of the
Reserve Fund as hereinafter provided for, the treasurer of the
Board of Education of Allegany County shall be empowered
and required to deduct an additional $1. 00, or any part thereof,
from the salary of such teachers as participate in the addi-
tional benefits of this section. Said deduction to be made out
of such teachers' salary for the month of July and to be in
addition to the deductions provided for in Section 604 and
the thirty-five cent deduction provided for in this section.
Said treasurer shall pay the same to the Board of Trustees as
heretofore provided for.

The Board of Trustees are authorized and empowered to
set up and maintain a Reserve Fund, in such amount as to it
shall be deemed adequate, as a special security for the payment
