be allowed, and upon all tax bills paid during the month of
August succeeding the levy thereof a discount of three per
centum shall be allowed. No discount shall be allowed on any
tax bill paid after the 31st day of August next succeeding the
date of the levy thereof. All taxes levied for county purposes
remaining unpaid on the 31st day of August in the year of
the levy thereof shall be in arrears and interest shall be
charged and collected thereon from said 31st day of August
at the rate of one-half per centum per month or for a fractional
part of each month until paid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 60.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
180, 181, 182, 183 and 184 of Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County, " sub-title "La Plata"; to add eleven new
sections to be known as Section 184A, 184B, 184C, 184D,
184E, 184F, 184G, 184H, 184-I, 184J and 184K, to follow
immediately after Section 184 of said Article, relating to
the collection of taxes on real estate levied and special assess-
ments made, by the town of La Plata, to fix the dates taxes
shall become due, and the interest penalties and costs on
taxes and special assessments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 180, 181, 182, 183 and 184 of Article
9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Charles County, " sub-title "La Plata, " be and the
same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
and that eleven new sections are hereby added to said Article 9,
to be known as Sections 184A, 184B, 184C, 184D, 184E,
184F, 184G, 184H, 184-1, 184J and 184K, to follow imme-
diately after Section 184 of said Article, and all to read as fol-
lows:
