rights that may be hereafter acquired by the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore for the protection or enlargement of its
water supply, sewerage, storm water drainage or refuse disposal
systems or any other of its utility properties.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 278.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Commissioners of Ox-
ford to make extensions to the water system of said town, and
to borrow on the faith and credit of the town of Oxford a
sum of money not exceeding six thousand dollars ($6, 000), to
issue coupon bonds therefor and to provide for the payment
of same with interest thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Commissioners of Oxford be and they are hereby
authorized and empowered to make extensions to the water sys-
tem of said town.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying for said extensions, the Commissioners of Oxford are
authorized and empowered to borrow on the faith and credit of
the town of Oxford a sum of money not exceeding six thousand
dollars ($6, 000), and to issue coupon bonds therefor in sums of
five hundred dollars ($500) each, to be signed by the Commis-
sioners of Oxford, countersigned by the Town Clerk thereof
and attested by the corporate seal of said town; said bonds to
be designated "Oxford Water Bonds of 1931" and shall be
consecutively numbered from one to twelve inclusive and shall
bear interest at the rate of five and one-quarter (5 1/4%) per
centum per annum, payable semi-annually on the first day of
May and November in each year, accounting from May 1, 1931;
and shall be forever exempt from all taxation for State, county
and municipal purposes and shall have printed on them a dis-
tinct reference to this Act authorizing their issue.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That said bonds to be
issued under this Act shall mature in numerical order to the
amount of five hundred dollars ($500), beginning May 1, 1933,
and on May 1st in each and every second year thereafter until
