Section 426 of said Article, relating to the registration of
voters and to municipal elections in Frederick City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Arti-
cle 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Frederick County, " sub-title "Frederick City, "
sub-heading "Election and Registration, " said new section to
be known as Section 42 6A, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 426 of said Article and to read as follows:

42 6A. The Board of Supervisors of Elections for Fred-
erick City shall have power whenever more than (700) seven
hundred person are registered in any one election precinct to
provide an additional polling place in each election precinct,
which may or may not be held at the same location, and when-
ever the Board of Supervisors shall designate an additional
polling place in any election precinct they shall appoint judges
and clerks of elections therefor, as in this Article provided,
who shall have all the powers, be subject to all the responsi-
bilities and be liable to all the penalties prescribed in this
Article for judges and clerks of elections. Whenever an addi-
tional polling place is provided for any such election pre-
cinct, it shall be the duty of the Board of Supervisors to cause
an additional set or sets of books to be prepared, containing
the names and other entries of registered voters transcribed
from the original books. One set of books shall contain the
names of qualified voters and other entries, except voters whose
names have been stricken from the registers, whose surnames
begin with the letter "A" down to and including the letter
"L. " The other set of books shall contain the names of quali-
fied voters and other entries, except voters whose names have
been stricken from the registers, whose surnames begin with
the letter "M" down to and including those whose surnames
begin with the letter "Z. " One set of books shall be used in
each of the polling places designated as provided in this sec-
tion. And whenever the Board of Supervisors of Elections
for Frederick City shall, in their judgment, believe that the
registration books of any precinct in the city are unfit for use
at an ensuing election, they shall cause an additional set of
books to be prepared containing the names and other entries
of registered voters transcribed from the original registration
books, and thereafter only the new books so transcribed shall
