gates to the General Assembly of Maryland, and all other per-
sons non-resident of said corporation, but who may be other-
wise so qualified, and who own real or personal estate in said
town to the value of at least five hundred dollars, shall, on the
first Monday of May, 1932, and on the first Monday of May
of every second year thereafter, elect one person to be Mayor
of Taneytown, who shall be at least twenty-five years of age
and shall have resided in said town at least one year previous
to the day of his election, and be the owner of real or personal
property in his own right in said town, assessed at at least six
hundred dollars. The Mayor of Taneytown shall serve for
a term of two years from the date of his election and until his
successor shall be duly elected and qualified. And all such
electors possessing the qualifications as aforesaid, shall on the
first Monday of May, 1932, elect five persons who possess the
same qualifications as the Mayor to serve as members of the
City Council of Taneytown. Of the persons so elected as mem-
bers of the City Council of Taneytown, the two having the
highest number of votes shall serve for a term of two years and
the other three shall serve for a term of one year and until
their successors are elected and qualified, and thereafter there
shall be held in the Town of Taneytown an election on the
first Monday of May of each and every year. In the year
1933 and in every second year thereafter, three members of
the City Council shall be elected and in the year 1934 and
every second year thereafter, the Mayor and two members of
the City Council shall be elected, all for a term of two years
and until their successors are duly elected and qualified.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first clay of June, 1931.

CHAPTER 189.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter
430 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1927, and appropriate fifteen thousand dollars ($15, 000)
annually for the Prince George's County Volunteer Fire
Association and to levy taxes to pay said appropriation, and
