Maryland; The Federals-burg Volunteer Fire Company of
Federalsburg, Maryland; Ridgely Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment, Incorporated, of Ridgely, Maryland; Greensboro Vol-
unteer Fire Co., Incorporated; and The Preston Volunteer
Fire Company, Incorporated.

3. That the County Commissioners of Caroline County be
and the same are hereby authorized and empowered to levy
annually an amount not exceeding five thousand dollars
($5, 000. 00) for the above purpose on the assessable property
of said Caroline County. Before the County Commissioners
shall be required to pay the moneys levied for the purposes of
this Act to the respective fire companies, the said commission-
ers shall have the power to require the officers of said fire com-
panies to appear before them and show to the satisfaction of
said commissioners that any sums of money paid by the said
commissioners to the said fire companies under this Act have
been expended for the purposes set forth in this Act, and also
that said respective fire companies are active fire fighting or-
ganizations. In the event any of the fire companies herein-
before mentioned cease to remain active fire fighting organiza-
tions, or have not used the moneys appropriated to them for the
sole purposes set forth in this Act, then the County Commis-
sioners are authorized and directed to pay to the other volun-
teer fire companies mentioned in this Act, in equal proportions,
the unexpected moneys in the hands of the said County Com-
missioners.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1931.

CHAPTER 175.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 27
of Article 39 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1929
Supplement), title "Fish and Fisheries, " sub-title "Tidal
Waters, " prohibiting the use of purse nets or buck nets in the
waters of the State of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 27 of Article 39 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Fish and Fish-
