the same terms as if the contract for the same was awarded as
set forth in Section 4 aforesaid.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 144.

AN ACT making the rates, rents and charges for the use and
service for sewer, drains and water as determined and
charged by the Commissioners of Denton, a municipal cor-
poration of Caroline County, a lien upon the property used
or served by said sewer, drains or water until paid, and pro-
viding that the same shall be collected as other municipal
taxes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the rates, rents and charges for the use and
service of sewer, drains and water as determined' and charged
by the Commissioners of Denton, a municipal corporation of
Caroline County, are hereby declared to be and made liens
upon the property used or served by said sewer, drains and
water until paid, and that the same shall be collected as other
municipal taxes.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 145.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Garrett County to pay four hundred dollars ($400. 00) to
the. Friendsville Volunteer Eire Department for the pur-
chase of equipment in the year 1931, and to levy the afore-
said sum upon the assessable property of said county.
