368. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are
hereby authorized and empowered to pay a salary of forty dol-
lars ($40) a month to each of the Justices of the Peace in the
following districts: In the Third Precinct of the Fifth Election
District at Glenburnie, and in the Third Precinct of the Fifth
District at Ferndale, and in the Second Precinct of the
Fifth District at Linthicum Heights, and in the First Pre-
cinct of the Third Election District of Anne Arundel County,
and in the Second Precinct of the Third Election District of
Anne Arundel County, and in the Second Precinct of the Second
Election District of said county; said salaries to be paid in lieu
of all fees in criminal cases and said justices are to return to
the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County all fines,
penalties, forfeitures and costs imposed by them and which they
shall receive for or on account of criminal offenses tried before
them under the provisions of the Code of Public General Laws
and Public Local Laws.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 128.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
457 of Article 16 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Roads, " as the said
Article and section was edited by Horace E. Flack and
legalized by Chapter No. 193 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1929, appearing in said
recodification as Section 755 of said Article 16, so as to
abolish the office of Montgomery County Roads Superin-
tendent and to establish a County Engineering Department,
providing for the appointment and compensation of a
County Engineer and assistants, defining his and their
duties and authority and providing for the compensation
and expenses of the Engineer and assistants so appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 457 of Article 16 of the Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, " sub-title
'"Roads, " said Article and section appearing in the recodifica-
tion of said Article 16 edited by Horace E. Flack and legal-
