purpose and to continue the tolls on both of the said bridges
until the whole purchase price and interest thereon is fully
repaid to the funds appropriated for the construction of
roads and bridges in the State highway system.

37.     The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby
authorized and empowered to provide for the payment of one-
half of the cost of repair, operation and maintenance of the
bridge and approaches near Point of Rocks, Maryland, if said
bridge and approaches are acquired hereunder, from funds
appropriated for the maintenance of roads and bridges in the
State highway system, provided the Commonwealth of Vir-
ginia shall pay the other one-half.

38.      The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby
authorized and empowered to provide for the payment of one-
half of the cost of repair, operation and maintenance of the
bridge and approaches at Brunswick, Maryland, if said bridge
and approaches are acquired hereunder, provided the Board
of Supervisors of Loudoun County shall pay the other one-half.

39.     The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby
authorized to enter into any and all agreements not incon-
sistent with this Act deemed by it necessary to carry out the
purpose thereof, both for acquiring the said bridges and ap-
proaches, paying therefor, and for the repair, operation and
maintenance thereof, provided there shall be incorporated in
an agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia and the
Board of Supervisors of Loudoun County, Virginia, a cove-
nant on their part that no effort will at any time be made by
the Commonwealth of Virginia or Loudoun County, or any
sub-division thereof to levy, assess or collect any tax upon the
interest or title of the State of Maryland or any political sub-
division thereof in either of said bridges or approaches.

40.      The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby
authorized and empowered to join with the State of West
Virginia, to purchase and acquire existing interstate' highway
bridges and approaches over the Potomac River or to erect
new bridges over said river when in the opinion of said Com-
missions such action on their part to either purchase existing
bridges or construct new ones, is necessary, and to pay one-half
of the purchase price or the construction price thereof out of
