89. That the said Annapolis Water Company shall be man-
aged by a Board of Five Directors, one of whom shall be the
person who may be Mayor of the City of Annapolis, and who
shall serve as such director during his term of office as Mayor;
and, by virtue of his office, shall be the president of the Board
and shall supervise and look after the general management of
said Company; and shall receive the sum of $800. 00 per an-
num as his compensation; one of whom shall be the person who
may be City Counselor of the City of Annapolis, who shall also
be the Counselor to said board. and who shall serve as such
director during the time for which he has been elected as such
City Counselor and shall for his services on said board, receive
the sum of $700. 00 per annum; three of whom shall be Alder-
men of the Municipal Corporation of Annapolis who shall be
elected by said corporation (the Mayor, Counselor and Alder-
men of the City of Annapolis) and who shall serve as such di-
rectors during their term of office. The minority political party
of the City Council shall be represented on the Board of Direc-
tors, whether the same be the Mayor, Counselor, or one of the
Aldermen, so that the majority political party of the said City
Council shall have the majority of its members on the said
Water Board.

There shall likewise be appointed by the aforesaid board one
clerk, who shall act as clerk and secretary to said board and
who shall receive the annual salary of $1, 200, payable monthly.

The City Treasurer shall be the collector of the water rents
and all rents due and owing shall be paid to him, and he shall
receive therefor the compensation of $100 per annum in addi-
tion to his present salary as said City Treasurer. Said City
Treasurer shall maintain a separate account in his office and a
separate bank account for the money received as water rent.
The said City Treasurer, before beginning to collect water
rents as aforesaid, shall first file bond with the Mayor, Coun-
selor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis in the penal sum
of $10, 000 for the faithful performance of the trust reposed
in him and the proper appropriation of the money received.

The said Board of Directors is hereby invested with full and
ample power to manage the Annapolis Water Company accord-
ing to its best judgment, and to adopt and enforce all needful
rules and regulations for the government of such employees
as it may find necessary and expedient to have, and for the
care and physical operation of the plant of the said Water
Company in the interests of the health, comfort and proper
