of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "County
Treasurer" in the codification of the said Public Local Laws,
edited by Horace B. Flack, under the provisions of Chapter
No. 193 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
Session of 1929, so as to prescribe the oath and bond of the
County Treasurer of Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 129 of Chapter No. 790 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, Session of 1912, said section
being designated as Section No. 200 of the Article 16 of the
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County"
sub-title "County Treasurer" in the codification of the said
Public Local Laws, edited by Horace E. Flack, under the provi-
sions of Chapter No. 193 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, Session of 1929, be and the said section is hereby
repealed and re-enacted to read as follows:

Section 200. Before entering upon the discharge of the duties
of said office the Treasurer of Montgomery County shall take and
subscribe before the clerk of the Circuit Court for said county
the oath prescribed in Section 6 of Article 1 of the Constitution
of the State, and shall give a bond, to be executed by himself and
some surety or guarantee company to the State of Maryland, in
the penalty of an amount equal to the amount of State taxes to
be placed in his hands for the next ensuing year, as estimated
"by the County Commissioners, with the condition prescribed in
Section 51 of Article 81 of the Code of Public General Laws of
this State relating to the bonds of collectors of State taxes, and
also a bond to the State of Maryland, executed as above pr^
Tided, in the penalty of $50, 000, conditioned for the faithful
performance of his duties as treasurer of Montgomery County;
said bonds shall be approved by the County Commissioners of
said county, and new bonds shall be given for each year that
he shall hold office; provided, that after the first year of his
incumbency said bonds may be executed and delivered at any
time before the annual levy of taxes is placed in his hands for
collection, and all such bonds shall be recorded in the office of
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, and the
commissioners of said county shall require as surety upon such
a surety or guarantee company incorporated under the laws of
this State, and the said County Commissioners shall levy such
sums as may be necessary to defray the expenses thereof.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.
