of the Constables to constitute the County Police of
Prince George's County and providing for a desk-clerk
for said Police.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Chapter 231 of
the Acts of 1931 (Sections 4, 5 and 6 having been amended
by Chapter 438 of the Acts of 1933), be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:
2. In Prince George's County there shall be a police
force, which by virtue of this Act shall consist of fifteen
Constables at Large, who shall constitute and hereby de-
clared to be the Prince George's County Police.
3. That the County Commissioners of Prince George's
County are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
appoint fifteen Constables at Large for Prince George's
County on the first Monday in June, 1935, to serve for a
term of two years from the date of their appoint-
ment, and they shall, on the first Monday in June
in every second year thereafter, appoint fifteen Con-
stables at Large for said county for the term of two
years, who shall constitute the Prince George's County
Police. And the County Commissioners shall have, at any
and all times, the power and authority to remove, for cause,
any one or more of said Constables at Large, and so ap-
pointed, at the pleasure of the majority of said Commis-
sioners, provided they shall first cause said Constable or
Constables to be notified in writing, specifying the nature
and kind of charge or charges made against them, at least
five days in advance of a day set for a hearing before said
Commissioners; and to fill any vacancy or vacancies that
may occur for unexpired terms in the manner hereinbefore
prescribed for original appointments.
The said County Commissioners shall appoint a desk
clerk for said County Police at a salary of $60 per month,
the said clerk to be assigned to his duties by the Chief of
Police.
4. The said Commissioners shall designate one of the
said Constables at Large, so appointed, as Chief of the
Prince George's County Police at a salary of one thousand
nine hundred and ninety-five dollars ($1995. 00) per annum,
payable in equal monthly instalments, and no other fees
or compensation whatsoever, except that the said County
