general circulation published in said county. The intention
of this Act is to facilitate and expedite the collection of
taxes in Queen Anne's County, and thereby generally pro-
mote the business of the County Commissioners' office in
said county, and for that purpose all the provisions of this
Act shall be liberally construed and all powers belonging to
collectors of taxes of said county at the date of the passage
of this Act, so far as the same are not inconsistent with the
provisions of this Act and its purposes, and so far as the
same will facilitate the Treasurer of said county in the dis-
charge of his duties hereunder, shall be possessed by and
are hereby given to said Treasurer; but he shall not by im-.
plication be held to possess any of the powers of such col-
lectors as might tend to delay him in the discharge of his
duties, or render the purpose of this Act more difficult.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and
they are hereby repealed to the extent of such incon-
sistency.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 385.
AN ACT to add one new section to Article 51 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Juries, "
said new section to be known as Section 24, to follow im-
mediately after Section 23 of said article, to provide for
the regulation of the course and conduct of jurors in
criminal and in civil cases.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That one new section, said new section to be
known as Section 24, be and is hereby added to Article 51
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title
"Juries, " to follow immediately after Section 23 of said
article, and to read as follows:
Section 24. The jurors sworn to try either a criminal or
a civil action may, at any time before the submission of the
