sicians of the State of Maryland, furnished by the Board
showing that said student, journeyman, or master barber
has no contagious, infectious or communicable disease,
which shall include tubercular and Wasserman tests, which
certificate shall not be dated more than ten days prior to
the date of examination for a student's, journeyman's or
master's license. Said medical examination not to exceed
the cost of $1. 00 for each applicant examined.
279. The Board of Examiners shall appoint the time and
place for holding examinations above referred to, which
shall be held at least four times a year, and such appoint-
ment shall be made with due regard to the convenience of
the applicants and the public service. Said Board of Ex-
aminers shall prescribe the mode and manner of conducting
said examinations, and shall conduct the same. Examina-
tions shall be given only to licensed students and jour-
neymen.
280. The Board of Examiners is authorized to incur all
expenses necessary to carry out in a proper, prompt and
efficient manner the provisions of this sub-title, and pay
the same out of any moneys in the hands of the Treasurer
of said Board, collected in and from the administration of
this sub-title, except, however, said Board shall not incur
any expense or obligation to which the State of Maryland
shall be liable.
281. Any member of the Board shall have authority to
enter upon and to inspect any barber shop or school at any
time during business hours. A copy of the rules and regu-
lations adopted by the Board shall be furnished by the said
Board to the manager of each barber shop and barber
school.
282. The Board shall keep a record of all licensed stu-
dents, journeymen and master barbers, and said record
shall be open to public inspection. The Board shall keep a
record of its proceedings, shall show whether an applicant
was licensed or rejected, and such records shall be prima
facie evidence of the facts recorded. The fiscal year shall
close on the first day of October each year and the Board
shall file with the Comptroller annually on or before the
first day of December of each year an itemized report of
receipts and expenditures and of its proceedings.
282A. Any person, resident of this State, who prior to
June 1, 1935, was engaged in the practice of barbering as a
