784 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 351

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 1 of Chapter 329 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1931 authorizing and
directing the County Commissioner's of Prince George's
County to lease a building in the Town of Hyattsville for
office purposes be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

Section 1. That the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County are hereby authorized and directed to
erect or buy, at a cost not to exceed forty thousand dollars
($40, 000. 00), or in their discretion to lease, at a monthly
rental of not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500. 00) per
month, a building in the Town of Hyattsville or elsewhere
in its vicinity in the Metropolitan Area of Prince George's
County. And if such building be leased the said lease shall
be for such time and upon such terms and other conditions
as the County Commissioners may deem advisable.

SEC. 2. And be it further Enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 351.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Alder-
men of Frederick, a municipal corporation of the State of
Maryland, in its discretion, to levy annually, with full
power to provide for the collection of the same, a sum
of money not exceeding Three Thousand Dollars, per
annum, and to pay over the same to the Frederick
Chamber of Commerce, Incorporated, a body corporate of
the State of Maryland, to be applied by it for the purpose
of promoting the economic, civic and social welfare of
the people of Frederick City, for municipal or public
purposes.

WHEREAS, The Frederick Chamber of Commerce, Incor-
porated, was organized and is now being operated and
carried on for the purpose of promoting the economic,
civic and social welfare of the people of Frederick City
and Frederick County, in the State of Maryland, as will
more fully appear by reference to the Charter of said Cor-
poration, which was approved by the State Tax Commis-
