added to Chapter 200 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1931, said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 11A, to follow immediately after Section 11 of said
Chapter and to read as follows:

11A. The Mayor and Town Council of Cheverly shall
have the authority to designate one or more Justice of the
Peace of Prince George's County for the hearing of cases
arising within the Town of Cheverly, wherein the Town of
Cheverly is a party, and the Marshal or other duly appoint-
ed police officers of the Town of Cheverly shall have the
authority, when arrest is made, to take the party arrested
before the designated Justice of the Peace, and proceed in
the same manner as Constables now proceed in cases
wherein the State of Maryland is a party.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 343.

AN ACT to authorize Lewis C. Merryman and John S.
Whaley to re-convey certain lands and rights of way
located on Sinepuxent Beach in Worcester County,
granted to them for the use of the State of Maryland for
the construction of a canal or inlet South of Ocean City in
said Worcester County.

WHEREAS, William B. S. Powell, now deceased, and Delia
K. Powell, his wife, et als, by deed dated January 20, 1933,
and recorded among the Land Records of Worcester Coun-
ty, in Liber B. B. No. 17, Folio 504, conveyed unto Lewis G.
Merryman and John S. Whaley a tract of land on the Beach
south of Ocean City in Worcester County, together with the
right to the use of certain streets and avenues, more par-
ticularly described in said deed, to grant, convey, transfer,
assign or set over the property above described and hereby
conveyed unto the Governor, Comptroller of the Treasury
and the Treasurer, constituting the Board of Public Works,
of the State of Maryland, or to the Government of the
United States, or to the State of Maryland, or to such per-
son or agency of said Government of the United States or
of the State of Maryland as may be designated by the said
