bond within fifteen days, unless the time be extended by
the Council, from the date of his appointment is confirmed,
the Mayor shall appoint some other person to said office, to
be confirmed as aforesaid by the Council and to give bond as
aforesaid, and said bond to be approved and recorded as
aforesaid. Neither said clerk, treasurer, collector or his
bond shall be liable for any losses resulting from the in-
solvency of any bank or trust company in which said col-
lector or treasurer shall have deposited moneys that came
into his hands as such collector or treasurer. In case of
vacancy for any cause in said office, or any of them, the
Mayor shall appoint some person to fill the unexpired term,
the new appointee to be confirmed and to take the oath as if
originally appointed. The clerk may take the probate to
any account against said city and administer oaths in any
proceedings where an oath is necessary had before the
Council or Mayor, but shall receive no fee therefor.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 339.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section
61 of Article 16 of the Annotated Code (Bagby's) of
Maryland, title "Chancery, " sub-title "Infants, " relating
to raising money by mortgage on infants' property.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 61 of Article 16 of the Annotated
Code (Bagby's) of Maryland, title "Chancery, " sub-title
"Infants, " relating to raising money by mortgage on in-
fants' property be, and the same hereby is repealed and
re-enacted with amendments so as to read as follows:

61. In all cases where it shall appear to the court by
proof, as provided in the preceding section, that it would
be for the benefit and advantage of an infant to raise money
by mortgage for improvements and repairs, made or to be
made, to his real property, or for monies spent or to be spent
for the maintenance, support and education of the infant,
or for monies spent or to be spent for the purchase of equip-
ment, stock, including live stock, for seeds, fertilizer, cost
