CH AFTER 307.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
393 of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset County, " sub-
title "Sheriff, " as said section was amended by Chapter
370 of the Acts of 1933, increasing the amount to be
paid the Sheriff for the keeping of prisoners in Somer-
set County and prescribing the amounts to be paid for
the transportation of prisoners from Crisfield to Prin-
cess Anne.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 393 of Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland '(1930 Edition), title
"Somerset County, " sub-title "Sheriff, " as said section was
amended by Chapter 370 of the Acts of 1933, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; to read
as follows:

393. The Sheriff of Somerset County shall receive for
the keeping of prisoners committed to his custody and for
their victuals the sum of sixty cents per head per
day, payable by the said County Commissioners on the last
day of every month. The said Sheriff shall also be paid
Three Dollars ($3. 00) for transporting one or more pris-
oners.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

Approved May 17, 1935.

CHAPTER 308.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
194 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1924 Edition) title "Health, " sub-title "Adulteration of
Food and Drink, " and to add one new section to said
Article, said new section to be known as Section 194-A
and to follow immediately after Section 194 of said
Article; defining the standards of quality, purity and
strength for foods or drugs; and limiting the mode of
sales thereof and to provide that in the case of foods
