CHAPTER 304.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County, " to be under sub-title "Schools—
Teachers' Salaries, " said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 724A and to follow immediately after Section 724 of
said Article, relating to the salaries of teachers in Wash-
ington County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland? That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Washington County, " to be under
sub-title "Schools—Teachers' Salaries, " said new section to
be known as Section 724A, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 724 of said Article, and to read as follows:
724A. The salaries of all teachers in the public schools
in Washington County shall be the same as for the school
year 1932-1933, except that for the period from September
1, 1935, to September 1, 1937, the said salaries may be
reduced as follows:
Those receiving salaries under $1200 shall not be
reduced more than 5%
Those receiving salaries from $1200 to $1799 shall
not be reduced more than 5%%
Those receiving salaries from $1800 to $2399 shall
not be reduced more than 6%
Those receiving salaries from $2400 to $2999 shall
not be reduced more than 6V2 %
Those receiving salaries from $3000 to $3599 shall
not be reduced more than 1%
Those receiving salaries of $3600 and over shall not
not be reduced more than TVs %
Nothing in this section shall prevent the full restoration
of salaries of teachers, under the State minimum require-
ments.
The County Commissioners of Washington County are
hereby directed to levy a sufficient amount to pay the
salaries as herein prescribed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.
