associations for a limited period of time upon payment of a
license fee of five dollars ($5. 00) per day for the period of
such license. Such license fee shall be paid before any such
license shall be issued and all such licenses shall otherwise
be subject to the provisions of Article 2-B of the Code of
Public General Laws.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That should any sec-
tion or part of a section of this Act be held to be invalid
for any reason, such holding shall not be construed as af-
fecting the validity of any remaining section or part of a
section of this Act, it being the legislative intent that the
remainder of this Act shall stand, notwithstanding the in-
validity of such section or part of a section.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws, whether Public Local or Public General, are hereby
repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and
having passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage, but the holder of any license issued
prior to the passage of this Act shall be permitted to ex-
ercise the privileges heretofore conferred by Article 2-B
of the Code of Public General Laws until the expiration
of such license on April 30, 1935, or until such license is
revoked as provided by said article.

CHAPTER 300.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 56 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition) title "Licenses, "
said new Section to be known as Section 24A to provide
for the licensing of Claw or Digger Machines and Pin
Ball Games and other similar amusement games, and
penalties for violation of said Section; to provide for the
collection of license fees to be paid into the "State Emer-
gency Relief Fund" and disbursed for relief purposes.
