sion of Maryland, at Annapolis, Maryland, February 25,
1909, in Liber B. S. No. 1, folio 795 etc., one of the Corpo-
rations Records in said office, and also recorded in Record
of Corporations Book No. 3, at folio 54, etc., one of the Cor-
poration Records, in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Frederick County, Maryland, on the 5th day of
March, 1909, be and the same shall become vested in the
Burgess and Commissioners of Walkersville, in so far as the
same may be applicable thereto, except that the capital
stock now outstanding shall be cancelled and instead of be-
ing operated by a Board of Directors, said Water System
and all of the rights, powers and privileges contained in
said Charter shall be owned and operated by the Burgess
and Commissioners of Walkersville.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That the Burgess and
Commissioners of Walkersville are hereby authorized to
prepare an ordinance providing for the purchase of said
Water Company and the issuance of said bonds, which ordi-
nance shall be printed or typewritten and posted in at least
four conspicuous places in Walkersville, at least five days
prior to the general election to be held on the first Monday
of May 1935, or in case the question be submitted to the
voters at a special election, which the Burgess and Com-
missioners are hereby authorized to do, then at least five,
days prior to said special election, and the Burgess and
Commissioners of Walkersville shall submit the question in
the manner hereinafter provided, to the qualified voters of
Walkersville at said general election or at a special election
to be held for that purpose. The manner of submission
shall be as follows: On the ballots to be used at said gen-
eral or special election there shall be printed the words:
"For the Purchase of the Water Company" with a blank
square opposite at the right, and the words "Against the
Purchase of the Water Company" with a blank square oppo-
site at the right, and all voters desiring to vote for the pur-
chase of the Water Company and the issuance of said bonds
shall place a cross (X) mark in the square opposite the
words "For the Purchase of the Water Company, " and all
voters desiring to vote against the purchase of the Water
Company and the issuance of said bonds shall place a cross
(X) mark in the square opposite the words "Against the
Purchase of the Water Company. " If at said election
more votes are cast "For the Purchase of the Water Com-
pany" than "Against the Purchase of the Water Company"
then in that event the provisions of this Act will become
operative and effective, but if more or as many votes are
