into effect immediately; and if there be a majority of votes
cast against this Act, then the same shall be null and void.
SEC. 8. Be it further enacted, That this is an emer-
gency law and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety and shall take effect from and
after its passage.

CHAPTER 201.
AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 2
of the Extraordinary Session of 1933, title "Alcoholic
Beverages, " said new sections to be known as Sections 54,
55 and 56 and to follow immediately after Section 53 of
said Article, relating to the sale of alcoholic beverages
in Dorchester County.
SECTION 1. BB it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That three new sections be and the same are
hereby added to Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land as enacted by Chapter 2 of the Acts of the Extraordi-
nary Session of 1933, said new sections to be known as
Sections 54, 55 and 56, to follow immediately after Section
53 of said Article to read as follows:
54. In Dorchester County every voter, who signs the
certificate supporting the application for license, shall have
resided in the voting precinct in which the applicant pro-
poses to do business, for three hundred and sixty-five con-
secutive days immediately prior to the date of the filing
of such application, and the signature of any person who
does not meet the requirements of Section 5 of said Article
and of this section, shall be null and void.
55. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corpo-
ration holding license under the provisions of this Article,
to sell or serve beer on the Sabbath Day in Dorchester
County; and any person violating the provisions of this
section shall, upon conviction thereof, be deemed guilty of
a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than five ($5. 00)
dollars and not more than twenty-five ($25. 00) dollars.
