CHAPTER 186.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
390 of Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), Title "Harford County, " sub-
title "Havre de Grace. "

CHAPTER 187.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Montgomery County, " sub-title "County Commissioners
and Treasurer, " said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 198A and to follow immediately after Section 198
of said Article, and to repeal Section 11 of Chapter 259
of the Acts of 1933, authorizing the County Commission-
ers to appoint a County Attorney and fixing his compensa-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Montgomery County, " sub-title
"County Commissioners and Treasurer, " said new section
to be known as Section 198A, to follow immediately after
Section 198 of said Article, and to read as follows:

198A. The County Commissioners of Montgomery
County are hereby authorized to appoint a County Attorney
at a compensation of not exceeding two thousand five hun-
dred ($2, 500. 00) dollars, which shall be in lieu of all other
fees and compensation for services rendered to the said
County Commissioners. The said County Commissioners
shall not employ any other attorney to render legal services
nor shall said Commissioners pay for any other legal ser-
vices rendered the County except as otherwise specifically
authorized by law. Provided, however, that this Section
shall not apply to any attorney or attorneys appointed
by the Circuit Court to try criminal cases or to any attorney
having and maintaining an office either in Baltimore, Mary-
land; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or New York City em-
ployed for the purpose of preparing legislation for or pass-
ing upon the legality of bond issues.
