teen hundred ($1, 500. 00) dollars per annum, payable by
the County Commissioners of Wicomico County in monthly
installments for every year he may serve as such deputy,
or pro rata for a part thereof.
If it shall become necessary to employ other Clerk or
Clerks in said office, The Treasurer, by and with the con-
sent of the County Commissioners, may employ same at a
salary or salaries to be fixed by said Commissioners. The
Treasurer shall be responsible for the official conduct of
such Clerk or Clerks so appointed by him.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 145.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments, Section
32 of Article 65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1924 Edition), title "Militia, " relating to the Organiza-
tions in the City of Baltimore known as the Veteran
Corps of the Fifth Regiment and the Old Guard.

CHAPTER 146.
AN ACT to exempt, for a period of two years, the Emmits-
burg Railroad Company from all state taxes and from all
county taxes in the County of Frederick.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Emmitsburg Railroad Company shall
be exempt from all state taxes and from all county taxes
in the County of Frederick for a period of two years from
January 1, 1935, provided that if said railroad property
should earn a net income during either of said years, the
said Company, its successors and assigns shall pay as a
tax an amount equal to all of said net income so earned
during said year or years in lieu of said taxes and other
charges, but not exceeding the aggregate amount of said
taxes and other charges.
