tive offices, which index shall be both in the names of each
and all the grantors, bargainers, donors, mortgagors or
assignors, and each and all the grantees, bargainees, donees,
mortgagees or assignees, and shall refer to the book and
page of the record of the several conveyances designating
the same.

62. They shall continue and keep up the alphabetical
indexes required by the preceding section, by noting at the
time of recording any deed, mortgage, bill of sale, short
assignment of mortgages, or other conveyance, the names
of parties, and the character of the conveyance in such
alphabetical index, in the manner prescribed in the pre-
ceding section.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1935.

CHAPTER 142.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 47 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Insol-
vents, " said new section to be known as Section ISA and
to follow immediately after Section 15 of said Article,
providing for an exemption to common carriers for ad-
vancements made on behalf of consignors and/or con-
signees.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 47 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Insolvents, " said new section to be known
as Section 15A, to follow immediately after Section 15 of
said Article, and to read as follows:

15A. All monies due and owing for advancements
of monies for freight made by one common carrier to
other previous common carriers on behalf of any consignor
and/or consignee not more than three months anterior to
the execution of such assignment, adjudication of insolv-
ency or appointment of receiver, necessary in connection
with the transportation of goods, wares and merchandise
shall constitute a preferred claim and be paid in full after
