CHAPTER 16.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 6 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Caroline County," sub-title "Federalsburg," said new
section to be known as Section 211A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 211 of said Article, empowering
the Mayor and Council of Federalsburg to pass ordi-
nances and make by-laws providing for the rates, rents
and charges for the use and service of sewerage, drain-
age and water supply systems and to make such rates,
rents and charges a lien upon the property used or served
by said sewerage, drainage or water supply systems un-
til paid, and providing that the same shall be collectible
as other municipal taxes are collectible.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Caroline County," sub-title "Fed-
eralsburg," said new section to be known as Section 211A,
to follow immediately after Section 211 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

211A. The Mayor and Council of Federalsburg shall
have the power to pass ordinances and make by-laws pro-
viding for the rates, rents and charges for the use and
service of sewerage, drainage and water supply systems,
which rates, rents and charges are hereby declared to be
and made liens upon the property used or served by such
sewerage, drainage and water supply systems until paid,
'and the same shall be collectible as other municipal taxes
are now collectible in the town of Federalsburg, as pre-
scribed by law.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of
the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
