1168 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 561

City, for the location, placing and site upon which to
locate a sewage treatment and disposal plant, or for the
purpose of maintaining and operating said sewage treat-
ment and disposal plant for the City of Cambridge, and
to lease, purchase or acquire rights of way or easements,
which may be necessary for laying pipes, or sewers, for
the equipping, constructing, installing, maintaining and
operating said sewage treatment and disposal plant and
intercepting sewers.

WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Cambridge, in Dorches-
ter County, Maryland, are contemplating the building and
constructing, installing and operation of a sewage treat-
ment and disposal plant and intercepting sewers for the
City of Cambridge; and

WHEREAS, the said The Commissioners of Cambridge,
Maryland, have heretofore applied to the United States
Government for a loan and grant for the above stated pur-
pose; and

WHEREAS, should The Commissioners of Cambridge,
Maryland, decide to install, construct, equip, maintain and
operate said sewage treatment and disposal plant and in-
tercepting sewers, it may be necessary for them to acquire,
by purchase, lease, gift, or condemnation, certain land or
lands, rights of way or easements, within and without the
corporate limits of the City of Cambridge, Maryland; and

WHEREAS, should The Commissioners of Cambridge,
Maryland, decide to install, construct, equip, maintain and
operate said sewage treatment and disposal plant and in-
tercepting sewers, it has been recommended to the said The
Commissioners of Cambridge, Maryland, that they acquire
approximately seven (7) acres of land, more or less, to-
gether with the necessary rights of way or easements, from
the Eastern Shore State Hospital, which is owned by the
State of Maryland, which said land is located outside of the
corporate limits of the City of Cambridge, Maryland, for
the purpose of locating a treatment and disposal plant,
sludge beds, and necessary piping and other equipment nec-
essary for a sewage treatment and disposal plant and in-
tercepting sewers; and

WHEREAS, it has been agreed by the State of Maryland,
through its proper officials, that should The Commissioners
of Cambridge, Maryland, or their successors in office, decide
to install, construct, equip, maintain and operate said sew-
age treatment and disposal plant and intercepting sewers,
said State of Maryland, through the Board of Public Works
of Maryland, or other proper officials, will convey by deed
