employee, the purpose of which is to waive this right of ex-
emption, shall be absolutely void.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety
and being passed by a nay and yea vote supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 105.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
280 and 287 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico County, " sub-title
"Salisbury, " as said two Sections were re-enacted by
Chapter 310 of the Acts of 1908, Sections 150 and 157
respectively, setting a fixed amount for the bond of the
clerk to the Council, collector of taxes and treasurer of
the City of Salisbury, Maryland, and relieving said collec-
tor, treasurer and clerk, and his surety of liability for all
taxes remaining uncollectible.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 280 and 287 of Article 23 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico
County, " sub-title "Salisbury, " as said sections were re-
enacted by Chapter 310 of the Acts of 1908, Sections 150
and 157 respectively, be, and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted with amendments to read as follows:

280. The said clerk, treasurer and collector, before en-
tering upon the performance of the duties of his office, shall
take and subscribe to an oath before a justice of the peace
residing in said city that he will well and faithfully perform
the duties of his said office according to law and the ordi-
nances of said city, which oath is to be returned to the
Council and recorded as provided for the oaths of other
officers, which oath, record of same or a copy thereof are
hereby made evidence in any court of this State. He shall
give bond to the State of Maryland in the penalty of Thirty
