In addition to the above license fee of $25. 00, a separate
license fee of 5 cents per thousand or fractional part there-
of on the number of clams bought, sold or marketed by him
shall be paid.
A clam dealer 'shall be further required to deduct the 5
cents per thousand or fractional part thereof on all clams
sold him by the catcher and shall remit this, together with
the additional license fee of 5 cents per thousand or frac-
tional part thereof, to the inspector of the Conservation
Department weekly on a report provided for that purpose.
It shall be the duty of the inspector to collect said license
of 10 cents per thousand or fractional part thereof from the
dealer and 5 cents per thousand or fractional part thereof
from the catcher, if due by him, and to remit weekly to the
Conservation Department and by it to the State Comp-
troller.
Said license shall be good for the year of issuance only.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 76.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title ''Crimes
and Punishments, " sub-title "Procedure—Indictments—
Amendment, " said new section to be known as Section
563A and to follow immediately after Section 563 of said
Article, providing for the hearing of motions for new
trials in criminal cases.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924 Edi-
tion), title "Crimes and Punishments, " sub-title "Pro-
cedure—Indictments—Amendment, " said section to be
known as Section 563A, to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 563 of said Article, and to read as follows:
