CHAPTER 69.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 19A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, 1929 Supplement, title "Con-
servation of Natural Resources, " said new section to be
known as Section 27, and to follow immediately after
Section 26 of said Article, providing for the retention
by the State of title to all lands hereafter formed in Sine-
puxent, Isle of Wight and Chincoteague Bays by reason
of the excavation of the Ocean City Inlet and Channel or
by natural causes since August, 1933, for the use of the
Conservation Department.
WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Maryland by Chap-
ters 431 and 432 of the Acts of 1931, provided that certain
oyster and clam laws for Worcester County should become
effective contingent upon the construction of the inlet
known as the "Ocean City Inlet, " and further enacted
Chapter 511 of the Acts of 1931, which provided for a loan
known as the "Ocean City Loan, " to cover the outlay for
the construction of same, and
WHEREAS, it appears from the dredging specifications
issued by the War Department of the United States, that
during the process of construction of said inlet a channel
will be made for a distance of approximately 11 1/2 miles
from the inlet through the Sinepuxent and Chincoteague
Bays, and that in disposing of the excavated material,
there will be deposits made, adjacent to the channel, which
will cause areas of land or islands to be formed or made,
extending the length of said channel, each of which will be
of dimensions approximately 1, 000 feet in length, 20 feet
in width, and 5 feet in height above mean low water mark,
and
WHEREAS, the title to the land so formed should be re-
tained by the State to help defray the expense of construct-
ing said inlet, said land being valuable and useful to the
State for Conservation purposes.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 19A of the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1929 Sup-
plement, title "Conservation of Natural Resources, " said
new section to be known as Section 27, to follow immedi-
ately after Section 26 of said Article, and to read as
follows:
