by the Federal Home Loan Bank, insofar as said Act or
amendments thereto, or rules and regulations thereof apply
to homestead or building associations, and (2), to ac-
cept in payment for mortgage debts or other indebtedness
due any such association, at or before maturity, bonds, at
their par value, of the said Home Owners' Loan Corpora-
tion.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
being passed upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-
fifths of all the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 63.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
281 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County'*, sub-title "Cottage City", increasing the term
for which street improvement bonds may be issued by
the town of Cottage City, and providing for the payment
of the principal and interest on said bonds as they ma-
ture out of funds collected from special assessments or
by general tax levy upon all the assessable property
within the limits of said town, in addition to the taxes
already authorized by law.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 281 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Prince George's County", sub-title "Cottage City", be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to
read as follows:
281. To effectuate the construction of roadways, alleys,
curbs, sidewalks and gutters mentioned in the preceding
section, the Cottage City Commission are hereby authorized
and empowered to borrow from time to time, on the credit
of the town, a sum or sums of money which shall not how-
