188 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 50

County, levy and appropriate the sum of Nineteen Thou-
sand, One Hundred and Seventy-four Dollars ($19, 174. 00)
to the incorporated towns of said County, to be appro-
priated amongst the respective towns of said County, as
follows:

The City of Cumberland................................................... $7, 630. 00

The Town of Frostburg................................................... 2, 660. 00

The Town of Lonaconing............................................... 2, 884. 00

The Town of Westernport............................................... 2, 020. 00

The Town of Midland......................................... 840. 00

The Town of Barton............................................................ 1, 240. 00

The Town of Luke.................................................................. 1, 900. 00

The same to be paid to the respective treasurers of said
city and towns not later than the first day of December in
each year following said levy, and all to be expended upon
the streets and highways of the said city and towns
The County Commissioners of Allegany County shall
further increase the appropriation to any incorporated city
or town in Allegany County on the basis of One Thousand
Dollars ($1, 000. 00) per mile whenever such city or town
expands its corporate limits to include additional mileage
of County Roads.

SECTION 2. And be it further enacted, That all Public
General and Public Local Laws inconsistent with the pro-
visions hereof are hereby repealed to the extent of such in-
consistency.

SECTION 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health or safety,
and being passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
