CHAPTER 31.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, Flack's Edition of 1930,
entitled "Washington County, " said new section to follow
immediately after Section 40, to be placed under a new
sub-title reading "Board of License Commissioners, " and
to be known as Section 40A, regulating the term of office
and salaries of the members of the Board of License
Commissioners for Washington County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be, and the same is hereby
added to Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, Flack's Edition of 1930, entitled "Washington
County, " said new section to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 40, to be placed under a new sub-title reading "Board
of License Commissioners, " to be known as Section 40A,
and to read as follows:

40A. The terms of the Board of License Commissioners
for Washington County appointed in pursuance of Chapter
2 of the Acts of the Extraordinary Session of the General
Assembly of 1933, are hereby extended to June 1st, 1939.
Each of the members of said Board shall be entitled to an
annual salary of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1, 500. 00) pay-
able from the license fees derived from the issuance of li-
censes authorized by said Act of the General Assembly.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That this Act is hereby declared to be an emergency
law and necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public health and safety, and having been passed upon a
yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General As-
sembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its pas-
sage.
