CHAPTER 29.

AN ACT to add thirteen new sections to Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, Flack's Edition
of 1930, entitled "Montgomery County, " the said new
sections to follow immediately after Section 571, and to
be placed under a new sub-title reading "Alcoholic Bev-
erages, " to be known as Sections 571A, 571B, 571C,
571D, 571E, 571F, 571G, 571H, 5711, 571J, 571K, 571L
and 571M, authorizing the holding of a referendum in
certain parts of Montgomery County, with respect to the
sale of alcoholic beverages in said districts; to prohibit
the sale of such beverages in certain election districts in
said county, and regulating the powers and duties of the
Board of License Commissioners of Montgomery County,
and the Liquor Control Board of Montgomery County as
authorized by Chapter 2 of the Acts of the Extraordinary
Session of the General Assembly of 1933.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That thirteen new sections be, and the same are
hereby added to Article 16 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland, Flack's Edition of 1933, entitled "Mont-
gomery County, " the said new sections to follow immedi-
ately after Section 571, to be known as Sections 571A,
571B, 571C, 571D, 571E, 571F, 571G, 571H, 5711, 571J,
571K, 571L and 571M, and to read as follows:

571A. No license for the sale of alcoholic beverages
authorized by Chapter 2 of the Acts of the Extraordinary
Session of the General Assembly of 1933, shall be issued
for any place of business located in any one of the follow-
ing election districts or towns of Montgomery County:
Laytonsville, Poolesville, Clarksburg, Colesville, Darnes-
town, Olney, Gaithersburg, Barnesville, Damascus, the
Town of Kensington and the Town of Takoma Park; pro-
vided, however, that upon the filing of a petition for a
referendum as hereinafter provided, signed by not less
than 30 percent of the registered and qualified voters of
any one of the said election districts, except the Towns of
Kensington and Takoma Park, with the Board of Super-
visors of Elections for Montgomery County, and the cer-
tification by the said Board of Supervisors of Elections of
the adequacy of such a petition to the Liquor Control
Board, it shall be lawful for such Board to approve the
issuance of the licenses authorized by Chapter 2 of the
Acts of the Extraordinary Session of the General Assem-
bly of 1933, for any place of business located within any
