CHAPTER 18.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
318 and 319 of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, (1924 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Larceny, " increasing the minimum in
larceny from five dollars or upwards to twenty-five dol-
lars or upwards, and providing that the theft of property
under the value of twenty-five dollars shall be a misde-
meanor, and prescribing the penalties therefor, and fix-
ing the time within which actions may be brought, and
conferring jurisdiction upon certain Justices of the Peace
of the Counties, and providing method of procedure; and
to add a new section to follow immediately after Section
319, to be designated as Section 319A, making the break-
ing of any shop, store house, tobacco house or warehouse,
with intent to steal an amount under the value of twenty-
five dollars, or stealing, in such breaking, an amount
under the value of one dollar, misdemeanors, and pro-
viding jurisdiction and penalties for same; and providing
further that nothing in this Act shall be construed to in-
terfere with any prosecution that has or may hereafter
be commenced for any violation of these sections, hereby
repealed or added, happening previous to June 1, 1934.

CHAPTER 19.

AN ACT to authorize and empower The Mayor and Coun-
cil of Rockville to borrow from the United States not to
exceed Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($17, 000. 00), to
issue evidence of such indebtedness and to provide for
the levy and collection of taxes for the repayment of
such loan and the interest thereon.

WHEREAS, The Mayor and Council of Rockville desires to
borrow from the Government of the United States, under
the terms of the Industrial Recovery Act, not to exceed the
sum of Seventeen Thousand Dollars ($17, 000. 00) for the
purpose of constructing certain public works in said Town;
Now, therefore:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said The Mayor and Council of Rock-
ville is hereby authorized and empowered to borrow from
