the consent of the owner of the property where the
traps are to be set, to set or place steel traps, not larger
than the standard Number 2 trap, for the purpose of catch-
ing predatory animals and birds, provided the name of the
owner be placed on all traps so set and that the owner of
every trap so set, or someone designated by him, shall
visit every trap so set at least once in every twenty-four
hours.
405B. Any person setting any trap in violation of the
provisions of Section 405A, or violating any of the other
provisions of said section, shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor and, upon conviction thereof before a Justice of
the Peace, shall be fined not less than Ten Dollars ($10. 00)
nor more than Fifty Dollars ($50. 00) for each and every
offense and, on failure to pay said fine, shall be committed
to the County Jail until such fine and costs are paid but
such imprisonment shall not exceed one day for each dollar
so imposed. All fines collected for the violation of this sub-
title shall be paid to the Conservation Department of Mary-
land and placed to the credit of the State Game Protection
Fund.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1936.

CHAPTER 27.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
233 of Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Howard County, " sub-
title "Police, " as said section was amended by Chapter 229-
of the Acts of 1935, fixing the salary of the Police Offi-
cer for the Second Election District of Howard County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 233 of Article 14 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "How-
ard County, " sub-title "Police, " as said section was amend-
ed by Chapter 229 of the Acts of 1935, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
