and providing for the appointment in addition thereto
of nine Justices of the Peace at Large, fixing the sal-
aries and other requirements for those so appointed as
Justice of the Peace at Large, and Justices of the Peace
and providing for the appointment of Constables at
Large in Allegany County and fixing their compensa-
tion; providing for Police Magistrates for the City of
Cumberland and for the payment of their salary by the
Mayor and City Council of Cumberland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland That Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, titled "ALLEGANY COUNTY, " sub-title
"JUSTICES OF THE PEACE AND CONSTABLES, " as the
same was enacted by Chapter 297 of the Acts of 1927;
Chapter 292 of the Acts of 1927, and Chapter 316 of the
Acts of 1929, and any amendments thereto, be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

Section 179. The Governor, by and with the advice and
consent of the Senate, shall appoint such number of Justices
of the Peace in and for each Election District of Allegany
County, as shall now or may hereafter be provided by law,
and each of said Justices of the Peace before entering upon
the duties of his office shall give to the State of Maryland
a good and sufficient bond with a surety or sureties to be
approved by one of the Judges of the Circuit Court for
Allegany County, in the penalty of Five hundred ($500. 00)
Dollars, with conditions that he will truly and faithfully
discharge, execute and perform all and singular, the duties
and obligations of the office of Justice of the Peace, and
that he will account for and pay over to the Treasurer of
Allegany County, all fines, penalties and forfeitures, and all
fees, or the portion thereof which he is bound to account
for and pay over to any public officer; and that he will
faithfully and truly account for and pay over to the per-
son or corporation entitled to receive the same, all money
belonging to such person or corporation, which may come
into his hands as Justice of the Peace.

Section 179-A. It shall be the duty of the Governor to
appoint by and with the advice and consent of the Senate
nine additional Justices of the Peace who shall be known
as Justices of the Peace at Large for Allegany County, two
of said Justices of the Peace at Large shall sit for the trial
of cases in the City of Cumberland, and two of said Jus-
