CHAPTER 116.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
956-A, 957-A, 959-E, 963-F, 964-E and 965-A of Article
16 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition)
title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Takoma Park, " as
amended and Sections 949-A, 950-A, 952-E, 956-F, 957-E
and 958-A of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's
County, " sub-title "Takoma Park, " as amended; to add a
new sub-section to the said Article 16 to be known as
sub-section 959-K thereof; and to add a new sub-section
to the said Article 17 to be known as Sub-section 952-K
thereof, the purpose of this Act being to repeal and re-
enact with amendments the said sections and or sub-
sections of the Charter of the Town of Takoma Park,
Maryland, situated partly in Montgomery County and
partly in Prince George's County; the purposes of the
amendments and new enactments hereby made being to
prescribe the qualifications of a voter within the said
Town and require the administration of an oath to in-
tending voters therein; to authorize the police officers
of said Town to make arrests for violations of State and
County laws within the corporate limits of the said
Town; to provide for the payment of Town taxes in two
semi-annual installments at the option of the taxpayer
and prescribe the machinery therefor; to prescribe the
method of offering property for sale at tax sales within
the said Town; to provide for public hearings upon the
petition of property owners for public improvements;
and to prohibit the Mayor and members of the Council
from being interested in Town contracts and provide
penalties for violations.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 956-A, 957-A, 959-E, 963-F, 964-E
and 965-A of Article 16 of the Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition) title "Montgomery County, " sub-title
"Takoma Park, " as amended and Sections 949-A, 950-A,
952-E, 956-F, 957-E and 958-A of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince
George's County, " subtitle "Takoma Park, " as amended, be
and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments and that Sub-sections 959-K and 952-K be and the
same are hereby added to the said Articles 16 and 17 re-
spectively; so that the said Sections and/or Sub-sections of
the said Articles 16 and 17 shall read as follows:
