and having been passed upon by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all of the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 52.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
138 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland,
Bagby's Edition, title "Elections, " sub-title "Miscellane-
ous Provisions, " so as to authorize the Board of Super-
visors of Elections of Anne Arundel County to divide any
precinct of any election district or any election district
in Anne Arundel County in accordance with such alpha-
betical division or designation as may be determined by
the said Board of Election Supervisors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 138 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland, Bagby's Edition, title "Elections, " sub-
title "Miscellaneous Provisions, " be and the said section
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:

138. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Balti-
more City and the Board of Supervisors of Elections of the
several counties shall have power whenever more than 600
persons are registered in any one election precinct or in
any election district which may not be divided into elec-
tion precincts, to provide one additional polling place in each
such election precinct or district; and whenever the sev-
eral Boards of Supervisors of Elections shall designate an
additional polling place in any election precinct or in any
election district not divided into precincts they shall ap-
point judges and clerks of election therefor, as in this Ar-
ticle provided, who shall have all the powers, perform all
the duties, be subject to all the responsibilities, and be
liable to all the penalties prescribed in this Article for
judges and clerks of election. Whenever an additional poll-
ing place is provided for any such election precinct or elec-
tion district, it shall be the duty of the Board of Super-
visors of Election to cause an additional set or sets of books
