124 LAWS OP MARYLAND. [CH. 51

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That County Commissioners of Worcester
County be and it is hereby authorized, empowered and di-
rected to grant and convey unto the Board of Education of
Worcester County, by a good and sufficient deed, executed
and delivered in accordance with the laws of the State of
Maryland, all of the right, title and interest of the said
County Commissioners of Worcester County in and to the
following lots or parcels of land, namely:

(a) All that lot or parcel of land lying and being sit-
uate in the First Election District of Worcester County,
Maryland, on the county road leading from Pocomoke City
to Cedar Hall, known as the "Men-ill's School" lot, and be-
ing the same property which was conveyed to the Com-
missioners of Worcester County from Levi Merrill and
Eliza Merrill, his wife, by deed dated July 19, 1849, and
recorded among the land records of Worcester County,
Maryland, in Liber E. D. M. No. 2, folios 565 and 566; and

(b) All that lot or parcel of land lying and being sit-
uate in the Seventh Election District of Worcester County,
Maryland, on the county road leading from Snow Hill to
Dividing Creek, known as the "Williams' School" lot, and
being the same property which was conveyed to the Com-
missioners of Worcester County aforesaid from William S.
Adkins and Isme Bailey by deed dated the 24th day of De-
cember, 1847, and recorded among the land records of said
Worcester County, Maryland, in Liber E. D. M. No. 2, folios
259 and 260.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted as aforesaid, That
this Act is hereby declared to be an emergency law and
necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety, and being passed upon a yea and nay
vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
