ply for and receive grants from the Federal government,
or any agency thereof, for such purpose, and the Commis-
sion shall have authority to receive books, military relics
and other objects of historic and military interest as may
be appropriate to the institution of an historical museum
and library as hereinbefore provided.

CHAPTER 50.

AN ACT to authorize, empower and direct the County
Commissioners of Worcester County to grant and convey
unto the Board of Education of Worcester County all
of the right, title and interest of the said County Com-
missioners of Worcester County now or formerly used
for school purposes.

WHEREAS, by deed dated July 19, 1849, and recorded
among the land records of Worcester County, Maryland,
in Liber E. D. M. No. 2, folios 565 and 566, a certain Levi
Merrill and Eliza B. Merrill, his wife, did convey unto the
then Commissioners of Worcester County, a certain lot or
parcel of land lying in the First Election District of
Worcester County, long known as "Merrill's School" and
devoted to the public school uses of said county; and

WHEREAS, by deed dated the 24th day of December, 1847,
and recorded among said land records in Liber E. D. M. No.
2, folios 259 and 260, a certain William S. Adkins and Isme
Bailey, granted and conveyed unto the then Commissioners
of Worcester County a certain lot or parcel of land lying
and being situated in the Seventh Election District of said
Worcester County, long known as "William School" and
devoted to the public school uses of said county; and

WHEREAS, County Commissioners of Worcester County,
a body corporate, is designated by law as the successor to
the Commissioners of Worcester County and the Board of
Education of Worcester County, a body corporate, is desig-
nated by law to take and hold title to the public school prop-
erty of said Worcester County and it is desired that said
County Commissioners of Worcester County shall convey
unto the Board of Education of Worcester County all of
the right, title and interest of said County Commissioners
of Worcester County in and to the above described prop-
erties in order to clear title to them in the Board of Edu-
cation of Worcester County.
