INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION.

HOUSE RESOLUTION.

By the Speaker and Messrs. Preston and Sklar:

House Resolution extending the congratulations and best wishes of
the House of Delegates to the Hon. Bertram L. Boone, II.

WHEREAS, the Hon. Bertram L. Boone, II, has served with honor
and distinction as the Secretary of State of Maryland from 1947
until the time of his recent resignation to enter the service of the
State Department of the United States; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Boone has brought to his position as Secretary of
State of Maryland a high sense of statesmanship and has discharged
his duties with credit to himself and to the State of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Boone in his public contacts as Secretary of State
has ever been friendly, courteous, and helpful, conducting himself in
the best tradition of public service in Maryland; and

WHEREAS, the State Department of the United States is fortunate
in securing the abilities and energies of this outstanding Maryland
gentleman; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland, That the thanks
and appreciation of this House are extended to the Hon. Bertram
L. Boone for his fidelity of service as Secretary of State of Mary-
land, and that the House has every good wish for him in his new
duties with the Department of State of the United States; and
be it further

Resolved, That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the
Journal of the House, and that the Chief Clerk of the House be and
he is hereby instructed to send a copy to the Hon. Bertram L.
Boone, II.

Which was read and adopted.

On motion of Mr. Pumphrey, seconded by Mr. Luber, and two-
thirds of the members-elect voting in the affirmative, the rules were
