Dear Sir:

I have the honor to inform you that the following resolution was
adopted by the City Council on December 5th, 1949:

RESOLUTION
No. 1735

(Introduced December 5, 1949, by Messrs. Bonnett, Schofield, Ken-
nedy, Di Domenieo, T. R. Reid, Abramson, McMenamen, Arthur,
Jarosinski, Mullin, Freburger, Muth, Dewees, Edelman, Wen-
ger, Masson, Buckler, Alpert and J. H. Reed.)

(Rules suspended and adopted.)

Resolution requesting that the Governor and the General Assembly
of Maryland acquire Sydenham Hospital for use in connection
with the Chronic Disease Hospital to be established in or near
Baltimore City.

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Health of Baltimore City has
indicated that there is no longer any need to maintain Sydenham
Hospital for communicable diseases; and

WHEREAS, this institution and its grounds would be an excellent
site for the Chronic Disease Hospital which it is contemplated the
State will erect in or near Baltimore City, as provided by Section
526 of Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supple-
ment) ; and
