HOUSE RESOLUTION.
By Mr. Rastenis:

A Resolution requesting the Custodian of Surplus War Material to
permit service men to purchase individually at least one motor
vehicle.

WHEREAS, the Custodian of Surplus War Material has charge of
the sale of surplus war material and is proceeding to sell such
material and equipment in large lots, thereby preventing G. I.'s and
service men generally from acquiring jeeps or motor trucks; and

WHEREAS, service men should be given the preference in acquiring
surplus material especially motor vehicles; therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Delegates of Maryland., That the Cus-
todian of Surplus War Material be and he is hereby requested to
permit each service man to purchase at least one motor vehicle
before selling such vehicles in large lots; and be it further

Resolved, That this Resolution be spread upon the Journal of the
House and that the Chief Clerk of the House be directed to send a
copy thereof to the Custodian of Surplus War Material, to the
President of the United States and to each Representative from
Maryland in the United States Congress.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Rules.

By Mr. Dick:

A Resolution requesting the Board of Public Works to give careful
consideration before substituting some other form of heating
public buildings than by the use of coal.

WHEREAS, Maryland Mines produce a considerable quantity of
coal which is purchased by the State for use in heating state in-
stitutions; and

WHEREAS, it has been stated that the Board of Public Works is
substituting oil heating equipment in some of the state institutions
and buildings; and
