tion, organized and motorized and approved by the said Asso-
ciation's directors, to be equally divided to companies meeting
the requirements of said board, only for the purpose of pur-
chasing and repairing fire apparatus and equipment; provided,
however, that no payments shall be made to any company or de-
partment which has any resolutions or regulations limiting the
territory within which it will respond to calls.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1st, 1929.

CHAPTER 41.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter
408 of the Acts of 1927 so as to continue the payment there-
in provided and to provide for an annual payment of two
hundred dollars ($200. 00) to the Grantsville Volunteer Fire
Department.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That Chapter 408 of the Acts of 1927 be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:

1. The County Commissioners of Garrett County be and
they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to pay
the sum of Six Hundred Dollars ($600. 00) annually to the
Oakland Volunteer Fire Department, and the sum of Two
Hundred Dollars ($200. 00) annually to the Grantsville Vol-
unteer Fire Department, so long as each of said fire depart-
ments remains an active fire fighting organization, for their
benefit, said sums of money to be used by the said fire depart-
ments for the purchase, repair or maintenance of fire fighting
equipment.

2. Such payments shall be made on the first day of Sep-
tember in each and every year by the County Commissioners
of Garrett County.

3. The County Commissioners of Garrett County be and
the same are hereby authorized, directed and empowered to
